We don\u2019t make the rules, but the fact is, no Big Mac or Quarter Pounder meal is complete without them.<\/p>\n<p>Fry-loving Brits were at risk of some serious FOMO this week though, as <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/mcdonalds\/\">McDonald’s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/malaysia\/\">Malaysia<\/a> launched an XXL version of the classic side dish. <\/p>\n<p>To celebrate International French Fry Day, <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/04\/mcdonalds-fans-fuming-fast-food-chain-quietly-puts-menu-prices-23579099\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the chain<\/a> dropped the Fan Fries Meal, which featured a gargantuan box of chips as the main event.<\/p>\n<p>This promotional portion size looks like the equivalent of three large fries smushed together in an extended cardboard container. And if that wasn\u2019t enough for you, it comes with a drink and a side (of fries, no less) as well.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"553\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23686497 lazyload\" alt=\"McDonald's won't be bringing these massive boxes of fries to the UK and we're devastated\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.answerla.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SEI_259286226-86d2-e1752760267527.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>It comes with a side… of fries (Picture: McDonald’s)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It\u2019s safe to say people were excited for the meal to drop \u2014 there was even a countdown to it in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur\u2019s busy retail district.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But if you were thinking of booking a flight to Asia to get your hands on it, you\u2019re unfortunately too late. <\/p>\n<p>The XXL fries were only available between July 11 and July 13, meaning unless you were in Malaysia, you\u2019ll have just missed out. <\/p>\n<p>In even more devastating news, McDonald\u2019s has confirmed to <strong>Metro <\/strong>that there aren\u2019t any plans to introduce this in <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/06\/18\/mcdonalds-just-launched-most-mcdonalds-burger-ever-uk-23446154\/\">the UK<\/a>. So if you want a huge serving of lightly-salted goodness, you\u2019ll have to order a few boxes separately. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@hungryfoodiesabah\/video\/7526108907626958088\" data-video-id=\"7526108907626958088\" data-embed-from=\"oembed\" style=\"max-width:605px;min-width:325px\">\n<section> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"@hungryfoodiesabah\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@hungryfoodiesabah?refer=embed\">@hungryfoodiesabah<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>MekDi XXL Fries!
